Created in 1995 by an Antiquarian Bookshop, Maremagnum has become the main Internet site in Italy, and one of the most important in Europe; antiquarian and modern books, maps, manuscripts, autographs and written or printed documents in general are offered for sale from professional sellers.Trough Maremagnum antiquarian bookseller can publish their catalogues on-line, with no restriction concerning the language, number and length of the records. Images are also very welcome and can be added for every record (we just need the URL).To participate is totally free of charges for any amount of record and you don’t have to pay any monthly or annual fee.
SERVICE
A fee will be applied only on the sales completed trough the site, for an amount of 5% of the amount invoiced (including shipping charges) + 1 euro per transaction.
For EEC booksellers:
Once a month the bookseller will receive a report including all the transactions of the months and will be required to invoice Maremagnum for the total amount less Maremagnum commissions. Such invoice will be fulfilled by bank transfer at the end of the month following the receipt of the customer’s payment.The bookseller is thus actually selling to the site, and will be requested to invoice Maremagnum but to send the sold items directly to the customer, also when the customer is a Public Library.
For Non-EEC booksellers:
Once a month the bookseller will receive a report including all the transactions of the months. The total of books sold less Maremagnum commissions will be paid by bank transfer to American booksellers. Payments via credit card will apply for booksellers from other countrisSuch invoice will be fulfilled by bank transfer at the end of the month following the receipt of the customer’s payment.
UPLOADING YOUR CATALOGUE TO MAREMAGNUM
You can upload one or more catalogues, your entire stock or single items quite easily: the first time you are requested to send your records to malavasi@maremagnum.com, afterward you will upload your data through the site by logging-in and selecting Services for Booksellers.The files to be uploaded have to be in text format, with tab. as field separator. For any other document format (Excel, Mdb, etc.) please contact us at the e-mail above, before attempting any upload.
SERVICES FOR THE PARTICIPATING BOOKSELLERS
As soon as we activate the account you created and upload your catalogue, you will be ready to begin! In your account as Bookseller, you can not only upload your catalogues, but also check the orders and reservations you received, update your data by adding or deleting catalogues or single items, communicate when you are away, change your bank details in order to be paid, change your shipping costs, etc. Every time one of your items is ordered or asked you will receive an e-mail and you will be requested to confirm the availability and / or to kindly answer the customer’s inquiry. Please note: you are requested to answer within 2 working days. If you will not, the item ordered will be considered as not available. If you are away (for holidays, or a bookfair, or whatever reason may be) and have communicated the time of your leave, Maremagnum will inform the customer and keep the order under reservation until you are back on business.
PRIVACY
All your personal data will be handled according to the international rules on the matter. They will be used to send you commercial information and proposal concerning the site, and for no reason shared with others. You can modify, delete, or forbid their use simply writing to Maremagnum.
