(mm. 152x95), bella legatura in p. pelle bazzana coeva (ben restaurata), dorso a cordoni con decoraz. e tit. oro su tassello ai riquadri, tagli marmorizzati, frontespizio entro graziosa cornice di strumenti musicali, seguito da una pregiata raccolta di 118 emblemi in tavv. inc. in rame, di cui 34 recano la firma di I. Messager (editore dell'edizione del 1631). Ogni vignetta ha il motto inciso in latino e francese. Cfr. A charming little book published in Antwerp in 1626 with Spanish, French and Dutch verses ("Amoris divini et humani effectus", a title inspired by some words if Vaenius's "Amoris Divini Emblemata), reprinted in 1629 with the title "Amoris divini et humani antipathia", and then in 1648 and 1670; published also in Paris as "Les emblemes..", by Messager in 1631 , by Mariette in 1690; in Salzburg in 1694, by J. B. Meyr. In its general idea the work resembles the "Antithesis Christi et Antichristi" of the Protestants (Geneva, 1578); the works of the Devil are contrasted with those of God, the effects of earthly love with those of divine love.
